Who We Are and What We Do
Ringway and Hale Barns WI was founded in 1957 and currently has around 40 members.

Our meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month at All Saints Church hall, Hale Road, Hale Barns, WA15 8SP, starting at 7.30 p.m. Limited parking is available outside the hall and at Asda next door. As you will see on other pages of this website, we try to have fun and do as many different things as we can to entertain all of our members.

The 'Meetings ' page on our website shows the variety of speakers that we have enjoyed this year. Meetings finish with tea and coffee, often with tasty homemade cakes. Members can browse the bookstall that supports the allotment project and sign up for events being held in the future. Most months members are invited to submit an entry for the competition.

As well as day trips there is an annual short break organised further afield.

Ringway and Hale Barns WI has a number of groups offering a range of different interests and skills. Members may join as many as they wish.
Visitors and new members are very welcome to come along and details of how to get in touch with us are shown at the bottom of the webpages. The map showing where we meet is below .
We are a friendly bunch so don’t worry, you will be welcomed by all!

NEWSLETTER
At last we are having some summer weather, although August has started out warm and dull! Hopefully the sun will reappear in the next few days.
The Fashion Show was a resounding success and our models did a wonderful job. Alex West who provided the clothing sold quite a few items and donated a percentage of her profit to the WI for our bench fund. We are hoping to have her back again, perhaps for a winter Fashion Show.
Our five-day holiday to Norfolk was very enjoyable although the weather could have been better! It was rather cool and we had the odd shower of rain. Not what was expected for June!!
We all had a really good time at the ‘fair’ in June for our birthday celebration with ‘Hook a Duck’, ‘Play Your Cards Right’, magnetic darts, Jenga, Connect Four and a few other games for members to have a go at. Everyone seemed to enjoy the evening and we are hoping to repeat it in the future.
The Rev. George Lane gave us an insight into his role as Chaplain at Manchester Airport in July. He was very interesting and funny too. His job is not always easy but it was evident that he really enjoyed it.
The Speaker at our August meeting will be Frances Rafftery who will give a talk on The Royal Personal Jewels. Members will be able to try on some of the jewellery and have their photographs taken. The competition will be ‘a brooch’.
September will be our annual Line Dance Evening, which seems to have gone down very well with both our own members and members of other WIs.
In October we will have a talk about Guide Dogs and the competition will be ‘an item relating to dogs’.
