The Book Club / Discussion Group
This group meets once a month at the Bulls Head pub in Hale Barns. Following a discussion about the books read and recommended by members there is a chat about anything and everything and many of the members stay for lunch.

At the last meeting the following books were discussed:

The Lie Maker - Linwood Barclay
Dead on Dartmoor - Stephanie Austin
The Shepherd's Life - James Rebanks
Before the Coffee Gets Cold - Toshikazu Kawaguchi

The next meeting will be 7th October, 2025, 11.45 at the Bulls Head.

Ladies' Lunch Club
Members of this group meet on a monthly basis at various different restaurants.

We try to hold the Lunch Club meetings on different days to ensure that all members have a chance to take part.

The next Ladies Lunch will be at 1.00 p.m. on Monday, 22nd September, 2025 at The Jolly Thresher, Lymm.
The Walking Group
In the past, walks have been arranged monthly for any members who wish to join and were usually fairly easy walks over mostly level ground, not usually exceeding 3 miles.

After a break due to illness, it is intended to try to start up the Walking Group with walks starting at the Cricket Club on Stockport Road in Timperley.

Details will be circulated as soon as a walk is arranged.

The Gardening Group
Ringway and Hale Barns WI has had an allotment at the Wellfield Lane Allotment site since August 2021.
It is hoped members will make this a productive and fulfilling project. Produce is sold at our monthly meetings for a nominal sum.

Any help that members can give to keep the allotment going would be greatly appreciated, even if it is only watering the plot for us in the summer.

To have any success with our produce from the allotment, we need to feed and water all the plants on a regular basis, so if anyone is interested in gardening and would like to join us, we would be very happy to see you.
The Card Making Group
Some of our members meet up to make greetings cards, which are then sold at our monthly meetings.
Personalised cards are available with names, ages, etc.
